About

As the saying goes, the first step in facing your problem is admitting you have one. So here goes...

Hello, my name is Tim Norman and I'm a photographer.

I've been photographing since I was a kid when I picked up my parents camera. I don't know exactly when I got the bug, but I know I cannot seem to get rid of it, and that's a good thing.

The photograph addiction hit me hard. So hard I made a career out of it. I have worked as a photojournalist for newspapers, magazines, and other publications since graduating from Bowling Green State University in 1994. You can find my professional website at www.TimNormanPhoto.com.

I've taken tens of thousands of photographs for others. I enjoy photographing people and telling their stories for others to discover, but sometimes I find myself taking photographs that don't really fit into my professional career for one reason or another.

Maybe it was a photo of a store front I found intersting or a person walking down a hill or a flower in the middle of the road. Whatever it was I never seemed to find a place to put it so those photos just sort of vanished into the growing archive of photographs I take.

I created this little playground for those shots. I'll probably include some photos I take while at work but most of it will be from hikes I take or photo walks I do. If you ever find yourself around Columbus and want to go on a photo walk contact me on twitter at twitter.com/TimNorman or Tim Norman.

This place is just going to be an outlet for an odd assortment of photos. My aim is to have 365 photographs up every year. For how long? I don't know. I look at this website as more of a garden to play around in.

I've noticed as I've progressed in my career that the amount of time I spend just photographing for myself has decreased. Inspired by Chase Jarvis and Joe McNally I decided to take out an additonal plot of soil on the internet and start mucking in the mud. The idea is that creating a garden to play in means I'll probably get a little dirty and plant some vegitables so to speak.
